Obituary For Sylvester Sims, Sr.

Sylvester Sims, Sr., was born on August 24, 1970 in Quitman, Georgia. He was the son of Cely Mae Sims. On Tuesday April 21, 2026, the Lord called him home for eternal rest.

Sylvester was known by family and friends as "Wally" He attended Brooks County Schools in Quitman, Georgia. He has worked as a Roofing Supervisor for over 30 years. He loved his job and he also fishing!

He leaves to cherish his loving memories to: his loving wife, Chandra Smith-Sims, two sons: Sylvester Sıms, Jr. (Au Sharai), Jalyn Sims (Jelissa), two daughters: Crystal Davis (Keith) and Kenefra Alexander; his grandchildren that he truly loved and adored: Alyrica, Gabriella, Si' Yani, Amir, Maliki, Sy' Khari, and AuNysti.

He leaves to mourn, one brother: Orsten Sims, Jr. (Susan) trom Naples, FL; three sisters: Ruby Sims, Lynette Sims and Teresa Sims and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and coworkers that he loveo dearly; a very special aunt: Sabrina Boatman: twc very special cousins (more like his brothers): Tyrone Boatman of Thomasville, GA and Jeffery Wilson (Cathy) of Fort Myers, FL and a special friend, Sinclair Minor.

You will forever be loved and missed dearly by your family!

A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 3PM at the Evelyn McGhee Repast Center. Burial will follow Smith Cemetery in Quitman, GA.
