Timothy Jerome “DuBug” Mobley was born on August 3, 1960, in Quitman, Georgia, to Lue Ella Strickland and John B. Strickland, Sr. He was raised with love by his mother, Lue Ella, his grandmother Eva Mobley, and his great-grandmother Delia, growing into a man grounded in faith, compassion, and family.
He was a devoted son and a loyal brother to Steven Mobley, William Mobley (Melvina Mobley), Raymond Mobley (Gail Mobley), Jeffery Mobley (Sarita Mobley), Lindsey Mobley, and John Strickland, a bond that carried him through every season of his life.
A proud Brooks County High School graduate and athlete, Timothy continued growing as a learner and reached a personal milestone in 2016 by graduating from West Georgia University. He served honorably as a United States Marine, carrying the spirit of resilience, strength, and confidence that defined him.
Timothy was a loving father to Tenneehesia Jarnesia Mobley, Timothy Jerome Mobley Jr., and Tajee Javon Mobley. He was “Pop-Pop” to his granddaughter Mei Joi Evans, a relationship that brought joy and blessings to them both.
Timothy was an uncle who showed deep love to Kendrick, Latisha, Paris (Montrell), Micoya, Jar-Mar (Sheorn), Jeremy, Lindsey Jr., Armani, Jada, Latrail (Desmond), Raymond Jr. (Alice), Antonio, Joy, Jeffery Jr., Jabari, and Jelani.
Timothy never met a stranger, welcoming everyone with warmth, humor, and unforgettable stories. He found peace in fishing and strength in gospel music, leaving behind memories filled with laughter and love.
He was preceded in death by his father John B. Strickland, Sr., his brothers Steven Mobley and John Strickland, his grandmother Eva Mobley, his grandfather William Stokes, his uncle Edd Mobley, and his nephew Kendrick Mobley.
Timothy leaves a legacy of faith, resilience, joy, and deep love, carried forward by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bethel AME Church, 1203 South Court Street, Quitman, Georgia 31643. Burial was followed in the Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman.
