We're thinking of you in your hour of grief. The kind, selfless nature of your father made him a joy to be around. He was truly a wonderful man and I hope it comforts you to know that your grief is shared by all of us who knew Uncle Herbert. He was a wonderful man and I have many fond memories of being around him as a child. Uncle Herbert will be sorely missed.
Memories of "Cousin Herbert" from your cousin Patricia De'Shazior Hill: For years my sister Veronica and my brother Willie Gene and I did not have a relationship due to the separation from our Mother Alma Teresa De'Shazior at an early age. However, my cousins Rosa Lee Robinson and Melvin DeShazior Sr. were able to put us in contact with several of our relatives including cousin Willie Herbert Sr. and his family. My greatest memory of him is when I would visit him and his family he would say- Is that you Tricia - Oh yeah - cause you look just like your mother. Shortly after that he would say to me and Veronica - you all are some pretty girls like Alma and Jewel Pearl. I am going to miss my cousin because he is/was the epitome of a great caring family man. One thing I could attest to is that he and his loving wife, Ms Marie loves The Lord and their family. It gave me pleasure watching them sing in the choir before he wasn't able to. My brother and I had an opportunity to go church one Sunday were he sat in the congregation. My brother whisper to me you see the way he's looking at Ms Marie. I said yes I do! Then my brother said look how he's smiling at her singing- I in return said Wow true love can linger on in spite of! Needless to say his unwavering love for his family and wife is a legacy that many of us will hold in our hearts forever. Rest my wonderful Cousin Willie Rest because God has allowed a part of you to continue through your children and the rest of your family like me. As I always said to your question - Yes Sir it's me- Patricia Alma T's daughter.

I will truly miss Uncle Herbert. I have fond memories of him as a child growing up in Miami during the years we lived there. He was always my father's "favorite" uncle growing up. Sending love to all the DeShazior family as we have now lost the last of the brothers and sisters!!! Love everyone and can't wait to start planning our next family reunion!!!
I remember Mr. DeShazior being my bus driver, bus 43, when I lived in Dixie with my grandmother. He was a wonderful person. To the family, I pray for peace and strength. - Pamela Mobley
