Agena Jourdain Dertes was born on April 15, 1963 in Croix des Bouquets Haiti, into a modest Family. Many know her by her nickname Foufoune. Deceased parents: Father, Moise Jourdain, and Mother Ilermise Mathurin both was Business entrepreneurs. This is where she inherited her love for Business. Her Mother, Ilermise raised her to become a hardworking, loving, caring, selfless, strong and independent woman. Foufoune always looked up to her mother, and would always tell her children to work hard and treat others with love and kindness regardless of their status. Foufoune was a well accomplished business woman both in United states of America and Haiti.
As a loving and caring young lady, Foufoune pledged her love unconditionally in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Joshua Eliphene Dertes in March 21, 1997. Together, God blessed their marriage relationship.
She has four children, her oldest being Randolph Donatien, myself, Syndie Jules, Yves Rodney Junior, and Ashley Dertes. She was blessed to become a grandma to five grandchildren: Ketsia Agena Sanon, Leonardo Philippe Donatien, Ariah Nichole Donatien, Nayelah Josephine Donatien, Zion Jourdain Donatien. Anyone who knew my Mother knew the love she had for her husband, kids’ and grandkids. The love she shared extended to the community both in the United states and Haiti. Many people here today would also consider her a mother and a friend as she taught us to keep it real and always show other love. and responsibility from childhood strict principles and discipline to her these strong values with her innate abilities have allowed Agena J Dertes, to always distinguish herself and have made her the successful woman and undeniable model for her family and society.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3 o'clock in the morning at Saint Lucie Medical hospital, at Port Saint Lucy, Florida, at the age of 58 years old. Foufoune departed from this world to meet her eternal father in the heaven. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and greatness. Truly she was a great woman and will be missed by so many. It was an honor to have known who she was, is in our hearts and always will be. Indeed, we can honestly say wholeheartedly we have lost a Mother, Grand Mother who has gone in our midst and this emptiness that she has left behind. God alone can fill the hearts of her lovely Husband, her children and all her family.
