He met and married the love of his life, Spicy Barron, on December 23, 1988. The love that they shared was incomparable.
One of his favorite scriptures was Matthew 7:1-3, which says, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” His favorite songs were, “Glad to be in the number, one more time,” and “When you hear of my home going, don’t worry about me.”

Sgt. Vickers befriended my father, Richard Morgan, while in Vietnam. I'm not sure how my father would have survived without him. My father never forgot him. I was hoping they could meet again in this world. How my father would have loved to tell him how much he meant to him. Sgt. Vickers, I am so thankful for you, and I wish I could have met you myself. I'm so brokenhearted to hear of your passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
I love you Granddaddy, Love your GRANDDAUGHTER MARQUITA BELLINGER.
I will always love you, my precious brother...sleep on. I'm praying for all of our family.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
