Alice Everett Davis Butler was born on July 26, 1926 in Greenwood, Florida to the late Percy and Nora Everett.
She received her education in the public school system of Jackson County at Union Grove High School where she played basketball during her time there.
In 1945, Alice moved to Tampa, Florida where she met her late husband, Robert Davis. They were married on November 10, 1947 and to this union two children were born. During this time, Alice was a homemaker caring for her family and managing household affairs.
In 1948, they moved to Fort Pierce, Florida uniting with St. John United Methodist Church where she became a member and resided until 1990. After the death of her husband, Robert Davis, she later remarried Rev. William H. Butler, Sr. and to this union, six children were added; Rosetta (deceased), Sonja (deceased), William Butler, Jr. (Vicki), Robert Butler (Joan), Clarice Bivins (David), and Michael Butler (Priscilla).
During this time, Alice moved to Miami, FL until 2002. After the death of Rev. Butler, she decided to move back to Fort Pierce, FL uniting with Allen Chapel AME Church.
On September 27, 2018, Alice entered into the gates of Heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Nora Everett; sister, Annie Muri Cole; brothers, Jessie Everett, Arthur Everett, Willie Everett, and Roosevelt Everett; late husbands, Robert Davis and Rev. Willie H. Butler, Sr.
Public visitation for Mrs. Alice Davis Butler will take place on Friday, October 5, 2018 between the hours of 3:00pm and 7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. Funeral Services will convene on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church beginning at 1:00pm in Fort Pierce, Florida.
