Carolyn Wilson Rembert was born on February 18, 1944 in Okeechobee, Florida to the late Willie and Carrie Wilson. She was the youngest of four children born into this union. (Willie Jr. and Leroy “Bubba Lee” preceded her in death). She was the 52-year lifetime partner/companion of Willie James Allen of which two children (Vincent and Leslie) were born. She was the grandmother of twelve and great grandmother of six and friend to many.
Carolyn was a member of New St. Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church. She joined at an early age.
Carolyn attended and graduated from Douglas Brown School in 1962. She had worked for East Coast Migrant Headstart.
Carolyn loved listening to gospel music, doing crossword puzzles, watching western movies & game shows and talking on the phones with her friends. She was a kind and giving person. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
On Friday, February 19, 2021, God looked down from heaven and saw that the flower he had planted seventy-seven years ago had started to wither and lose its sparkle. At 6:00 p.m., God sent his angels down to earth to bring His flower home to be renewed and shine in his heavenly garden.
She leaves to cherish the fond memories: Her life-time companion of fifty-two years, Willie James Allen; four children, Darryl Rembert of Okeechobee, FL, Reginald Rembert of Indianapolis, IN, Vincent (Diane) Rembert of Okeechobee, FL, and Leslie (Alexander Ivy) Rembert of Fort Meyers, FL; two sisters, Barbara Goodlow of Bakerfield, CA, Georgia (Thomas) Perry of Frostproof, FL; two brothers, Willie Wilson of Jacksonville, FL, Odell Bryant of Tampa, FL; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-inlaw, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a very special niece, Elizabeth Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will convene on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00am at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Dean's Court in Okeechobee, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
