Chiquita Avonshon Stevens was born on December 5, 1977 to Dr. Marcia T. Claridy and the late Cleveland Stevens, Sr. Chiquita received education in the public schools of Summerton, South Carolina. She was a 1995 graduate of Scott Branch High School in Summerton, South Carolina and went on the obtain a degree from Phoenix University in Social Work. Chiquita was employed as a Social Worker for Fort Pierce Healthcare for approximately 2 years.
Chiquita loved to eat. She was a very outgoing and fun person to be around. Her spare time was spent with her children and her family.
On Monday, September 17, 2018, the Angel of the Lord summoned Chiquita home to a land where pain and suffering shall be no more. She was preceded in death by her dad, Cleveland Stevens, Sr.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are: mother, Dr. MarciaT. Claridy; children, Deyguon Stephens, Toakeem Stevens, Denaija Stevens, DeVontre Stevens, Zaniya Alfonso, Zandijah Alfonso, Jayshon Stevens; grandparents, Evangelist Estelle Stevens, Bishop Samuel Taylor, Missionary Hannah M. Taylor; sisters and brothers, Abbey Simpson, Rodney Stevens, Maurice Taylor, Cedric Stevens, Christopher Stevens; special aunt, Patricia (James) Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Good News Missionary Baptist Church – Fort Pierce. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Flowers are delivered by the preferred local florist of Stone Bros. Funeral Home and Chapel.
