Ethel Lois Ausby, daughter of Inez Cobb Ausby and Claude B. Ausby, was born July 9, 1944 in Oakfield, Georgia. In November, 1945, Ethel and her family moved to Vero Beach, Florida.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Ethel joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1970’s under the leadership of Rev. Russell Holloway. She was a faithful and dedicated member. She served as an active member of Choir #1 until her health declined. She was educated in the public school system of Indian River County, graduating from Gifford High School in the class of 1963.
Ethel attended Indian River Community College receiving an Associate of Arts degree. She worked as a Laboratory Technician with the Hercules Corporation.
On February 21, 2023, the Lord called His servant home. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Inez Cobb Ausby and Claude B. Ausby; brothers, Donnie Ausby Sr., and Charles Ausby; sisters, Carolyn and Ellinora Ausby.
Ethel leaves many happy memories: son, Timothy Earl Green Warren, Ohio; brothers, Benjamin L Ausby of Hobe Sound Florida, Arthur D. Ausby Sr., Vero Beach, Florida; sisters, Barbara Ausby Williams, and Helen G. Ausby of Vero Beach, Florida. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a devoted friend and classmate, Mary Atkins.
Public visitation for Ethel Lois Ausby will take place on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel in Vero Beach, FL. Funeral Services will convene on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Saint Peter's Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Gifford Cemetery.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. To My Cousins. I'm sorry I was unable to attend Ethel's Homegoing service. I will keep Timothy, Ben, Barb, Helen, Arthur and the rest of the family in prayer. May God comfort and give you strength to face each day; one day at a time sweet Jesus. Love y'all. Indell
