Fannie Simmons was born in Cordele, Georgia on July 25, 1945 to the late Dan Simmons, Sr. and Daisy Quinney Simmons.
Fannie received her general education from Gifford High School in Gifford, Florida.
Fannie was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her passing. She also was president of the Choir Union for over thirty years and teacher of the Youth Sunday School class.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, Fannie was called home to rest from all of her labor. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Simmons; mother, Daisy Simmons; grandmother, Rosella Rodgers; brothers, John Ace, Dan, Aaron Simmons; sister, N. Jean Bailey.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her brother, J.L. (Linda) Simmons; sisters, Rosetta Moore and Ida Simmons; sisters-in-law, Lessie Simmons and Otha Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
Public viewing for Fannie Simmons will take place on Friday, January 1, 2020 at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel in Vero Beach, FL between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 11:00am at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Gifford Cemetery.
