Gwendolyn Vernell Singletary, 63, a residence of Fort Pierce, Florida was called home to be with her lord on July 5, 2020.
She was born March 23, 1957 in Fort Pierce,Florida to David Robinson and Elizabeth Mckinnond.
She received her early education in schools from Saint Lucie county public schools graduating from Fort Pierce Central High School in 1976. She furthered her education attending Indian River State College and also attended an HBCU which is Bethune Cookman College.
Gwen also served in the United States Army.
Before retiring she was employed at Department of children and family for the state of Florida for over 30 years.
Gwen community service included coaching youth girl softball teams. She served as a coach and fundraiser manager for the Sheraton Plaza Track Club.
To cherish her memories: Husband Willie D Singletary Jr , daughter De"Anna L Singletary, siblings Virgina Musgrove (Arthur Musgrove) and Gail Freeman (Scottie Freeman). Grandchildren Jay Allen II, Ayonna Mitchell, and Da'Nasia Davis and father David Robinson all of Fort Pierce, FL. She had a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and god children.
Public visitation for Gwendolyn Vernell Singletary will take place on Friday, July 10, 2020 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00pm. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 1:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines, as well.
