Helen Sheffield was born on August 28, 1957, in Georgia, to Mary Brooks and Willie Sheffield, Sr. Helen later on moved to Fort Pierce, Florida. She was a housekeeper at numerous hotels. She loved to cook and spend time with her family.
On July 16, 2020, God whispered to Helen to come and walk the gates of Heaven. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Brooks and Willie Sheffield, Sr.; siblings, Willie Sheffield, Jr., and Patricia Brooks; and her great-granddaughter, Ma’Keila Burkes.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories and legacy: her son, Marquis Sheffield; daughters, Lawanda O’Neal, Tamekia (Alexander) O’Neal, LaTonya (Johnny) Harris, and KaTina Sheffield; sister, Sandra (Willie) Fulton; brothers, Leroy Hooks, Calvin Brooks, Darrell (Helen) Brooks, and Michael Brooks; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Katie Garrison; goddaughters, Shakelia Adger and Sheila Davis; special friend, Willie Hudson; best friend, Elizabeth Hunt; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Helen Sheffield's life will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 2:00pm.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
