Jere Flowers Spearman was the first child born to Isabelle Knowles Flowers and Jacob Flowers on January 22, 1942, in Wabasso Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Indian River County, where she graduated Gifford High school and then continued her education by attending Florida Memorial College located then in Saint Augustine Florida, she then graduated with “Honors” and received her master’s from Nova University in 1977. She started her road of education by teaching at Douglas Elementary, then Pelican Island Elementary where she finished at Sebastian Elementary as a Primary Specialist which is equivalent to an Assistant Principal until she retired on or about 1998.
Jere was joined in Holy Matrimony to John Henry Spearman in 1966. To this union, two children were born, Jaret, and Jadrien Spearman who resides in Omaha Nebraska and Orlando Florida.
She was previously a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church of Wabasso which was founded by her maternal great grandfather, Charlie and Nettie Harren. She was involved in the ministries within the church of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Gifford Florida. Of which she played as a pianist-choir member, church secretary, she was also a Sunday school teacher, announcer and was a wife of a Deacon.
In her leisure time, she played her piano, wrote small books, and designed many crafts and her passion was to always be involved with some type of teaching in every environment of which she was surrounded within.
On Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her residence of 4216 58th Ave Vero Beach Florida, Jere Flowers Spearman quietly and peacefully departed life on earth to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father Jacob Flowers, mother Isabelle Knowles Flowers; her brother Laurence Ellis Flowers her sister Tanne Brown.
Left to celebrate her home going are: a husband Johns Spearman, are her brothers Vernon & Jimmie Flowers, son Jaret Spearman Sr., a daughter Jadrien Spearman her nephews Laurence Flowers Jr., Bobby Flowers, Corey Richardson and Waddell Brown, her niece Jatobia Flowers, Suzy Jackson, Cindy Williams, Mitzy Jackson, and Adriann Harper, grandchildren are: Jaret Spearman Jr. Malik Spearman, Briana Spearman, Isaiah Spearman, Jali’jah Service and, Jor’dyn James. Great nieces and nephews are Letevia Flowers, Keandra Flowers, Senai Flowers and Laurence Flowers III. To many other family members, loved ones, and friends who will miss her, and remember her because of her loving, caring personality and examples of wholesome living.
Memorial services for Jere Flowers Spearman will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2022 beginning promptly at 11:00am at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach, FL.
