Joann Culver-Dupuis was born on September 19, 1941 to the late Lola Bell Kirkland-Culver and Bernie Culver in Newville, Alabama. She attended the local public schools and then later attended schools in Saint Lucie County and received her GED. After graduating, she then attended classes at Indian River State College. She worked as a house keeper for several residents in Saint Lucie County. She also ran a small store from her home. Joann, in her spare time, enjoyed traveling to visit her family and friends throughout the state of Florida. She also loved to journal and write letters to her loved ones.
On October 10, 2021, Joann heard the call of the Master bidding her to come home and rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernice Culver and mother, Lola Bell Kirkland-Culver.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her son, Horace Culver of Fort Pierce, FL; grandson, Darcy(Sherquita)McFolley, Sr. of Fort Pierce,FL; great grandson, Darcy McFolley, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, Willie Bell Love of Petersburg, Virginia; great granddaughters, Shaintecia Holloman and Samya Bryant both of Fort Pierce, FL; great grandson, Sy’mere Holloman of Fort Pierce, FL; and a host of other family members and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
Public visitation for Joann Culver-Dupuis will take place on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 2:00pm.
