Born in Leogane, in the southern part of the island of Haiti on February 10, 1955, Joseph Gustave Belizaire began his journey through life. Our father passed away on January 22, 2023. Joseph was the oldest son of Vilcius and Angelina who had 13 children in total. Gustave, a hard working man, raised his four children: Nancy, Guirlene, Guitaut, Gupson and two adopted children: Liziana and Urdelle in a very disciplined way. He followed in the footsteps of his father in many ways.
Joseph, was a taylor in Port-au-Prince, and then spent most of his youth traveling with his father from the capital to La Gonave. There he met his wife, Marie Paul, with whom he has 2 daughters: Nancy and Guirlen. In 1979, he traveled to work in Venezuela and came back to Haiti in 1986. One year later, he immigrated to the United States. In this new environment, he raised two boys: Guitaut-1990 and Gupson-1992. He spent 13 years of his life working diligently to ensure the wellbeing of his children. He worked as a van driver, driving long distances to secure an income. Then in the year 2000, Guirlene and her mother joined him in the States. And in 2003, Nancy, a business-minded first-born girl, entered the ‘land of the free’ to continue the legacy of her hard working father.
