Larry Sanders was born to the late Author and Annie Sanders on June 23, 1949 in Wabasso, Florida. He was the fifth of eleven siblings. You could tell at an early age Larry was very adventurous and was destined to travel the world. He was academically gifted and attended Gifford high where he would later graduate. Larry set out to see the world at a young age, traveling around the country packing oranges and other fruits. Soon after graduating Larry joined the armed forces allowing him to see over 12 different countries around the world. He left with honorable discharge fulfilling his contract with the army. He then went on to become a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Fort Pierce, a town 30 minutes down the street from where he was raised and was given the nickname “MailMan.”
Upon exiting the Army and retiring from United Postal Service, Larry was married twice and has 3 children: Miziki, Cheyenne, and Lil Larry. Larry was a humanitarian, who set out to serve his community by cooking and feeding people almost daily until the day he died. His community and this world are a better place because of his impact.
Larry had a love for fishing and sports, but he particularly had a deep passion for basketball, golf, and football.
Thank you for being here with us today to celebrate his life! Amen.—
