Obituary For Leola Ann Stevens-Rivers

Leola Ann Stevens Rivers was born on March 9, 1954 to Ascott Stevens and Leola B. Williams-Stevens in Long Island, New York. She graduated high school at Kissimmee High School in Kissimmee, FL. In 1972, she and her parents moved to Fort Pierce, FL where she became a citrus crew leader and picker.

In 1975, she gave birth to LaTasha Ann Stevens with her former husband, Cliff Matthews, and in 1976, she gave birth to Ordy Lynn Stevens with the late Leonard Gordon. In 2002, she married her loving husband, Frank Rivers.

For several years, she worked at Holiday Inn, Colonial Engineering, Flowers & Holsum Bakery, Circle K, and Indian River County School District. She retired from both the Saint Lucie County School District as a bus driver and Walmart Super Center as a cashier for over thirty years of service.

On December 13, 2022, the book of life was closed for Leola Ann Stevens. She was preceded in death by her father: Ascott Stevens; mother: Leola B. Williams-Stevens; brothers: Harry Stevens and Jackie Stevens; sisters: Larcine Stevens and Sharon Stevens.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband: Frank Rivers; her beloved pet dog: Roscoe; daughters: LaTasha Ann Stevens and Ordy Lynn Stevens; grandchildren: Christopher Ascott Williams, Jr., Alexus Sam’misha Stevens, Drevian Malik Stevens, Martavious Maurice Tommie, and Martez Maurice Tommie; great grandchildren: Melody E. Deleon-Williams, Christopher C. Deleon-Williams III, and Chrishawn C. Deleon-Williams; brother: Gordon Ray Stevens(Angel) of Lawrenceville, GA; sister: Joann Stevens-Williams(James) of Orlando, FL. Her life and legacy will also be forever honored by close friends, step children, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and other family members.

Public visitation for Leola Ann Stevens-Rivers will take place on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
