Mildred German, known as “Murt” to family and friends, was born on October 10, 1966 in Sylvania, GA to the late John German, Sr. and Lillie Mae Davis.
While as kids, the German family migrated to Fort Pierce, FL. Mildred German was raised on 13th street and Parkland Court where she met a host of lifelong friends and family. Ms. German attended the public schools of St. Lucie County and graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School in 1984. She later continued in schooling for Culinary Arts. Mildred left high school and had one job in her career. She became world known as the cook at Carter’s Grocery. Ms. German retired from Carter’s after over 35 years of service. Some of her hobbies included fishing, singing and going to church. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Mildred was a loyal, loving, and strong individual. Throughout the years of working at Carter’s Grocery, Craig and Denise accepted Mildred as one of their own. Ms. German found her niche in that kitchen touching many people’s hearts and stomachs including celebrities with her cooking. She was outspoken and gentle all in one. She loved to laugh and joke and had one of the prettiest smiles you could see. Ms. German was a proud grandmother of 2 grandkids. “Pop Pop” her oldest grandson later became her beacon of strength in life to keep fighting. One of the strongest women to grace this planet earth. It was on May 26, 2022 that Almighty God called for his angel Mildred German to come home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John German Sr and Lillie Mae Davis; her grandson, Kyrie Messiah Robinson; nephew, Christard Hicks; sister, Ruby German.
Left to cherish her precious memories her sons, Kendrick Robinson and Rodney(Chiquitta)Walker of Fort Pierce, FL; grandkids, Rodney ”Pop Pop” Walker III, Riley Messiah Walker of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Ludell Hicks of Fort Pierce, FL, Molly Hanks of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Nathaniel(Barbara)Davis of Boyton Beach, FL, John German and James German of Fort Pierce, FL; goddaughter, Cornisha Anderson; special aunts, Elnora German and Daisy Burks of Fort Pierce, FL; extended family, Craig(Denise)Carter of Fort Pierce and Jabari Mobley; special friend, Larry Robinson; and host of mourning nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Public visitation for Mildred German will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at House of God #1 in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
