George Brooks was born on June 3, 1938 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Lou Sonmerville and Moses Brooks. He is the baby of the family of five children. He attended P.J. Kirsey High School of Aliceville, Alabama.
Assistant Pastor George Brooks was employed by St. Lucie County Road and Bridges Department for 30 years.
Assistant Pastor was married to the late Pastor Mattie Mae Davis Brooks for 18 years.
In the early 70’s, he got saved and filled with the holy ghost. He became a member of the S.D. James Evangelistic Pentecostal Association, Inc. He was ordained and became the Assistant Pastor of the Church of the 7 Olives EPC.
He was a faithful member for 45 plus years. He was a good man, a good father, loving, kind, prayer warrior, and a pastor’s armor bearer. He worked diligently with the Save the Children Outreach Ministry and walking the streets witnessing to people. He was a good steward and pillar in every area of the church.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Calvin Brooks, Patricia A. Brooks (deceased), Darrell (Helen) Brooks, Danielle Brooks, Michael Brooks, Jocelyn (Quintano) Hinsey, Veronica (Charles) Johnson, Derrick Brooks, Anthony Brooks, Menson (Mirlande Moise) Gosling; stepchildren, Leroy Hooks, Sandra (Willie) Fulton, and Valarie Jo(Johnny) Edwards; 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 deceased sisters, Pearlie Mae McBride, Louise Gaines, Margaret McCoy, and Christine Hood; 2 sisters-in-law, Virgiline Davis and Dorris Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many church families, and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.
Public visitation for Pastor George Brooks will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
