Obituary For Phito Altona

Phito Altona was born on September 20,1970 to Jacqueline Altona and Sauveur Petit-Homme in Merger, Haiti. Phito attended Methodist Carrefour for elementary and Philippe Premier for high school. While in Haiti, Phito ran a small business with his mother Jacqueline. In 1992, at the age of 22, he entered the United States looking for a better life. Phito then started life here in the U.S in Fort Pierce, FL. In 1995, he met his beautiful wife, Angeline Bazelais, at the First Haitian Church of the Nazarene of Fort Pierce; they later began dating in 1996. On October 11, 1997 they became one. Phito loved his wife for 25 years. From 1998 to 2003, he and his wife had three beautiful children: Jonathan, Mckenley, and Samantha Altona.

Phito was a jack of all trades. He worked as a seamster, chef and Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). After working many other jobs, in 2003 Phito decided to pursue his dreams and became a professional truck driver. He was a hardworking man that never complained and eventually he became a business owner of his own trucking company. Phito was a truck driver for 20 years and he enjoyed every year doing it to provide for his family.

Phito was an amazing husband, father, son, cousin, uncle and friend. He had a voice that roared but meant no harm. Everywhere Phito went he was always the loudest one in the room. He filled every room with his bright spirit and that sweet voice of his. Whenever Phito stepped out he always made sure he dressed to impress and smelled real good no matter where he went and his legendary headset was never too far. He loved his family dearly and they were his number one priority. Phito did everything out of love, he never let anything stop him from doing what he needed to do no matter if people discouraged him, he would block that out and do what he needed to do. He was always determined to make his family proud. Phito will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.

On June 16, 2023, at 5:05am, in Daytona Beach, FL Phito was called home to his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his father, Sauveur Petit-Homme; son, McKenley Joshua Altona; grandmother, Annelia Alexis; grandfather, Marcedoiane Altona; uncles, Maxi, Ozias and Nemy Altona.

He will be remembered by his wife: Angeline Bazelais; son: Jonathan McKenzy Altona; daughter: Samantha Angie Altona; mother: Jacqueline Altona; mother- in- law: Gelie Cimeus; brothers: Bogaiye and Jacqeui Petit-Homme; uncles: Wilson (Oselene Alexis) and Isaac Altona; aunts: Naomie, Suprime and Josline Altona; nephews: Smith Petit-Homme, Jacqeson Petit-Homme; nieces: Smithsha Petit-Homme; best friends: Laurore Monfort, Jean Delix Rejouis “Fanfan”, Jean-Paul Lermot, Ernest Pierre “TiFre” and a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly: The Altona Family, The Alexis Family, The Dessin Family, The Lindor Family and The Celestin Family.

Public visitation for Phito Altona will take place on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Church of The Nazarene of The New Jerusalem in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Morningside Church in Port Saint Lucie, FL beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow in White City Cemetery.
