Robert Howard was born on Tuesday, May 29, 1951 in Bishopville, South Carolina to the late Mary Jane Harry. Throughout the early childhood rearing years of Robert's life, great love was shared and given by his late grandparents Rebecca and George Howard. The village rearing was in operation during his teenage life and was shared with his loving Auntie Ada and Uncle Charlie Howard. Robert was educated in the public school system of Bishopville, South Carolina. After her graduated, he met and married his love, Vicky Weeks. To this union, one son was born: Reggie Howard.
He began his career working for Aspen Tree Company in South Carolina. During his young adventurous life and before his retirement, he traveled back and forth to Fort Pierce, FL. In 2002, Robert settled in Fort Pierce with his family to be with his brothers and sisters to help share with the care of their parents, Mary Jane and James Harry.
Robert was soft spoken and a man of very few words. He had a “Heart of Gold” that he was ! His stories of the good old days brought so much laughter in the house to all of us. All he wanted to do was be a help wherever help was needed. Robert loved to grill and it was off the chain. He was famous for his home made barbeque sauce and grilling in a pit. There was nothing like Robert's grilled pig. His special dishes from the kitchen, by way of family and friends request made his cooking smell good all through the house.
Robert's relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ was accepted, shared, and faithfully supported in ministry with the Lighthouse Baptist Ministry of the Treasure Coast. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane and James Harry.
Robert's unforgettable precious memories will be cherished by his son: Reggie (Marsha) Howard of Tampa, FL; grandson: Jordan Howard of Tampa, FL; sister: Gloria (Harrison) Freeman; brothers: Wilbur Harry, Clifton (Zulma) Harry, and Roosevelt Harry all of Fort Pierce, FL; aunt: Ada Howard of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends that will miss him dearly: Veronica Holloman and Andrea Burgess.
