Obituary For Sarah Ruth Lawson

Sarah Ruth Lawson was born on May 20, 1942 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to Thelma Sams and JD. Lawson. She was brought to Fort Pierce, Florida as an infant after the death of her Mom by her Grandmother Lillie M. Sams who raised her.

She received her education in various schools in St. Lucie County. She worked in the agricultural field as well as being a community beautician. You almost had to take a number to get waited on. She loved doing hair with the old fashioned straightening comb and the curlers that you put on the stove. She also loved cooking and helping anyone that she could.

Sarah accepted Christ into her life and joined Mt. Bethel which later became River of Life Fellowship Church. She attended until her health declined.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, the Lord called Sarah to her Heavenly Home from Labor to Reward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Sams and JD Lawson; daughter, Velvet Lawson Jackson; son, Grady Wyche; grandmother, Lillie M. Sams; sister, Lillie Marie Sheffield; aunts, Hattie Sams and Mary Washington; uncles, Willie James, Otis, Grady and Leroy Sams.

Left to cherish her precious memories are: sons, Kenneth Lawson, Terry Lawson, James Sylvester Lawson, Michael Wyche, Ernest Lawson all of Fort Pierce and Ricky Lawson of Crawfordville, FL; grandsons, Kenneth Lawson, Jr., Willie Coleman, Devontae, Michael, Kelvin, Melvin, Malik, Matthew, and Grady Wyche, Larn Nelson, Shabra Wallace, Caine Kelly, Jehu Lawson, and Gerod and Gary Brown; a host of great-grandsons; granddaughters, Tara Lawson, Twinna and Brianna Lawson, Detresia Townsend, and LaShonda Brown; aunt, Mattie Sams; uncle, Otis Washington; nephew, Steve Sheffield; a host of cousins including Brenda Newberry, Cynthia Portier, Marvin Rhynes, Michael, Gregory, and Kerry Sams; and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly

A Visitation for Ms. Sarah Lawson will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 3 - 7 p.m. at Stone Brothers Funeral Home - Fort Pierce . A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.
