Akbar Mu’min, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He was born in Bronx, New York, to the late Arthur and Louise Beach on April 22, 1932. Akbar retired as a self-employed painter in Central Islip, New York. He also honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of Temple No. 7 in New York City and Masjid Al – Nahl in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a devout Muslim and community servant, who enjoyed spending time with family. He is survived by two daughters, Renee Akbar and Lauraine Rademaker; 5 grandchildren, Shaakira Akbar, Mutaqee Akbar, Tareeq Akbar, Raheem Rademaker (Tigist) and Aliyah Webb (John); 5 great grandchildren, Hasaan, Niarra, Mylles, Semay and Madu; son-in-law, Na’im Akbar; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who loved and adored him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 70 years, Syidah Mu’min; his brother, Arthur Beach Jr. (Louise). The Janazah Service will be 12 (Noon) Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
