It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bishop Joseph Wayne Henderson.
Bishop Joseph Wayne Henderson, 62, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Homegoing services will be 11 AM, Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center. Burial services will be 1 PM, Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
A Tallahassee native, Bishop Henderson was a proud 1981 graduate of Rickards High School and 1985 graduate of Florida A&M University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. Bishop Henderson was the founder and Senior Pastor of Celebrate New Life Tabernacle, where he served with joy and love for God's people.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Cynthia Henderson; daughter, Donetta Henderson; brother, Michael Henderson; sisters, June (Willis) Knight and Yolanda (Ronald) Fletcher; special sister: Sandra (Alton) Campbell; uncle: Amos Franklin; several godchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Henderson and Alberta Henderson and sister Patricia King.
