Dr. Fortenberry will remain in my heart as a dear friend, an accomplished educator, and an astute visionary. It was my pleasure to serve as her 3rd Vice Pres of the First District Missionary Baptist Association's Woman's Auxiliary from 2003-2007, as we worked together on many positive occasions. Much love and prayerful condolences to her family, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Few persons are born to educate, to serve, and to love., and to balance such, throughout the course of their lives. I thank God that the Dr. Linda Fortenberry, was a shooting star, whose light , l beheld, to do all three simultaneously, through Christ Jesus. As an Orleans Parish School Board Educator, she aided me patiently, in methods and in empathy, to teach,' The Whole Child'. As a Christian Woman, she navigated my path within religious organizations, as l stood my ground, in male dominated Clergical leadership. In community , she was a steadfast ear, and a stern voice , for matters involving the least, the last, and the left out. We shall see her in the morning, be steadfast, Rev. Deninah Goodwin, Sr. Pastor, The Zion Christian Ministries
