Obituary For Dr. Osiefield Anderson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Osiefield Anderson. Please scroll down to the “Celebration of Life” icon to access the livestream.
Dr. Osiefield Anderson, 97, died Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Dr. Anderson was a beloved (retired) Professor of Mathematics at Florida A&M University. Having taught at FAMU for over five decades from the late 1950’s to 2019, he was still teaching and tutoring students well into his 90’s. Dr. Anderson is also a retired Army Veteran who recently received the prestigious Quilt of Valor.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 16, 2025, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be 12:00 (NOON), Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 12:00 (Noon) to 6:00 P.M. Friday, August 15, 2025 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
Survivors include his loving son, Gregory R. Anderson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
