It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Lonorris Dejuan Whittaker.
Lanorris Dejuan Whittaker was born in Tallahassee Florida on January 7, 1971. He was the son of Annie Marie Whittaker Barnes (Raymond Barnes Sr., Stepfather). He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Hogan and brother Raymond Barnes Jr. remaining sibling his sister Raynita Mahala Barnes.
Lanorris grew up in the Springfield Community of Tallahassee, Florida. Lanorris attended the Public Schools of Leon County and graduated from Lincoln High School. Following graduation Lanorris worked as a cook for Popeyes and an Assistant Chef under his late brother Raymond Barnes Jr. at Capital City Country Club and previously maintained a Lawn Service until his passing. He was a member of Philadelphia P.B. Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
Lanorris Love and Legacy will be cherished forever by his children, Demontre Walker of Tallahassee, Florida and Qyran Acker of Tallahassee, Florida, his Uncles Michael Hogan (Anna) of Tallahassee, Florida, Charles Hansberry (Theresa) of Tallahassee Florida, Walter J. Whittaker Jr. (Delores) of Tampa, Florida and Ivory L. Bisbee (Denita) of California and Aunts Wilma Sherman (Ricky) of Tallahassee, Florida and Mary Bisbee of Tallahassee, Florida and A Great Aunt Mae Washington of Tallahassee, Florida, along with a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2025 at New Birth Tabernacle of Praise Church, 1200 Harlem Street. Burial will follow at Clifford Hill Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 12:00 (Noon) to 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 12, 2025 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
