Marjorie Nicole Nims, 56, passed on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 9, 1969, in Syracuse, New York, to Theodore Nims Jr. and Gloria Ann Lee Nims, and was the youngest of two children.
A resident of Tallahassee for more than 38 years, Marjorie was a proud 1996 graduate of Florida A & M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. She delighted in reminding everyone that she was a Rattler—one of Dr. Humphries’ best.
Following graduation, Marjorie began her career at Barnett Bank but soon discovered her true passion was working directly with people. She went on to enjoy a career in retail, where her dedication and leadership led her to several team lead positions with Network Cable, FedEx, Sears, JCPenney, Sports Authority, and most recently Target.
Marjorie was known for her loving spirit, warm heart, and genuine kindness. She was a devoted family member, a caring friend, and someone who consistently went out of her way to help others in need. An ardent dog mom, she shared a special bond with her beloved four-legged companions—PJ, G, Cody, and most recently, Kane.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Nims Jr; mother, Gloria Lee Nims; maternal grandparents, Fred D Lee Sr. and Maude Lee Seabrooks; paternal grandparents, Theodore Nims Sr., Alvin Black and Thelma Nims Black.

I was so very saddened to learn of Marjorie's passing. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of attending family reunions in Florida or of visiting Marjorie, Chandra, and Cousins Gloria and Ted while they were living in the Midwest. I still remember running around and playing on the big front lawn at Aunt Maude's, or at one of the parks in Tallahassee. I remember how much I loved to spend time with "Marjorie 'Co Nims" (which is how she was affectionately known to my brother and I), and how I cried loudly when it was time to go back home and return to everyday life. Marjorie was always so sweet and caring, and I always knew I was blessed to have such a wonderful cousin. I will continue in prayer for the entire Lee family during this time of loss.
We're so sad to hear about the sudden passing of Margie. She was so kindhearted, friendly and down to earth just like her Mom Gloria. Our condolences to the Lee Family. We're gonna miss her!! Evelyn and Bill Hackney in Aubrey, Texas.
