Amos Clayton, 89, of Tallahassee was born on Wednesday, September 7, 1932, to the late Ross Clayton Sr., and the late Janie Stanley Clayton. Amos finished his earthly course on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was a Korean War Veteran. Professionally, he was employed by Miami-Dade Metro Transit for over thirty years. His generosity and kindness touched so many lives in such a special way and he never met a stranger.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Betty Lowery Clayton; five loving children, Ronald L., Sr. (Betty) Merriwether, Salena (Barry) Clayton Stadom, Michael K. Clayton, Tracey L. (Darrin) Brown, and Michele E. Kelley; five siblings, Albert Clayton, Sr., Elder Anderson Clayton, Sr., Marion C. Randolph, Dorothy Adaya Abrams, and Barbara Jean Clayton; eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hickory Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 5233 County Hwy 12, with burial at the church cemetery with military honors.
