Byron Thomas
Tallahassee - Byron Thomas was born July 17, 1968 in Tallahassee, Florida. He later moved and lived with his parents and sister in Atlanta, Georgia from age one through completion of high school at Northside High School. Byron graduated from high school in 1987 and enrolled in Florida A & M University.
After FAMU, Byron remained in Tallahassee, where he began his professional career. He joined the Leon County Property Appraisers office in 2006 and remained employed with them until his death. In August 2020, Byron was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. On September 27th, Margo moved Byron to Jacksonville to be with their daughter's family as he transitioned with the help of his mom and hospice care. On October 2nd, Byron peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
Byron is survived by his devoted family - wife Margo of Tallahassee; daughter Antonia Agenor (Lovensky) of Jacksonville, mom Ocea Thomas of Atlanta; dad Lawson Thomas (Barbara) of Atlanta; sisters Lesley Thomas (LoRandy) of Atlanta; Amy Perkins (Monica) of Knoxville; aunts Jay Nutter of Hartford, Becky Pinney of Atlanta; grandchildren Alexander, Abigail and Lovensky Jr. of Jacksonville; in-laws Arlene Ellis (Namaan) of The Bahamas; James Sinclair of Birmingham; Lynette Richardson (Eric) of Valdosta; Randy Taylor of San Antonio, Nashad Ellis of Seattle; nephews Ryan Hill and Bryson Starks of Atlanta, Colin, Braeden and Rowan Sheppard of Knoxville; nieces Le'Andrea Ray, Cidavia Gardner (Jarious), Latazia Hepburn of Valdosta; Amelia Sheppard of Knoxville; grand-nephew Ryan Jr., Jarious Gardner, Jr., Avery Taylor; grand-nieces Rhyan Hill; Kemani Bivens, Raven Taylor, Jaci Gardner; cousins in Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Connecticut; and a host of friends in Tallahassee and Atlanta.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Strong & Jones Chapel. Service may be viewed at Strong & Jones Youtube.

Byron fought a good fight, he kept the faith, he finished his course with dignity, grace and courage. His soul is with the angels. His spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
