Henry Clayton Eatman was born July 17, 1970 in East Chicago, Indiana, to parents Henry Cebron Eatman and Pearlie Lewis Eatman. Affectionately known as Clay, he was the fifth of eight children.
Following in his brothers' footsteps, he played basketball in both elementary and in high school. Henry attended East Chicago public schools graduating fron Central High in the top ten percentage of his class. He achieved speical recognition in Mathematics and Science.
After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana, Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. Clay started his career with the State of Florida, Department of Revenue in 1997. At the time of his passing, Clay was a Revenue Specialist at the Department of Revenue. His career spanned 25+ years in service for the Department of Revenue.
Clay enjoyed many passions, but favorite among those was his love for the Chicago Cubs. His love for that team started as a very young boy and continued his entire lifetime. He would consistently set time away on his schedule to watch the Cubs at beginning and ending of baseball season. He was a true Chicago Cubs fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cebron Eatman; grandfather, Clarence Lewis; grandmother, Earlene Lewis; brother, Steven Eatman; aunt, Bernice Lewis; uncle, Jimmie Lewis;
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Pearlie Lewis Eatman of East Chicago, IN; one sister, Faith Blackwell (James) of Indianapolis, IN; five brothers, Stanley Eatman (Katrina) of Tallahassee, FL, Terrance Eatman (Rosalyn) of Altanta, GA, Dennis Eatman of Birmingham, AL, Gene Michael Eatman of East Chicago, IN, Brett Eatman, Indianapolis, IN, a speical cousin, Bettye Jo Eatman of East Chicago, IN and a host of Additional family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Strong & Jones Chapel.
