Prince Albert Smith Sr.
Tallahassee - Prince Albert Smith, Sr., (Nickname Mane) a native of Tallahassee, Florida, born January 30, 1938 departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was baptized as a Primitive Baptist. He was a proud Lincolnite graduating in 1958 from the original, non-integrated Lincoln High School and embraced the spirit of the Tiger (School Mascot). Giving 36 years of service, he was a retired Sexton for the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tallahassee.
A joint graveside service with his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Smith, will be 12 (Noon), Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Oakland Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 AM to 6 PM Friday, March 18, 2022 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
Left to cherish his memory was his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Sweet Smith. Still cherishing his memory his son, Kenneth Smith (Tallahassee); two daughters, Kelii Smith (Tallahassee), and Sharon Smith (Tallahassee); five brothers, Sora Smith (Liz), Folton Smith (Deborah), Johnny Smith (Laura), Willie Smith (Jeannette) and Al Smith, Sr.; two sisters, Betty Gallon and Alzora Smith; first cousin, Charlene Edgecomb; five grandchildren, Timothy Smith, Sharnae Muhammad, Antwon Muhammad, Jimail Sinkfield and Erica Smith; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and beloved friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death his parents, Sara Gaster Smith and Rosa Bell Mitchell Smith; brother, Glover Smith; sister, Florence Smith; daughter, Florence Janice Smith and son, Prince Albert Smith, Jr.
