It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Ronald Eugene Snell.
Ronald Eugene Snell was born October 14, 1957, to Joseph Snell and Mary Lee Davis Snell in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was the fourth child born to this unbreakable union.
Ron was a graduate of Fort Pierce Central High School (1975). He received his (Associates of Arts) degree from Indian River Community/State College (1977), and his (Bachelor of Science Degree) in Political Science (1980) from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Two weeks before leaving for FAMU, he met the love of his life, Jackie. Although she was also leaving to attend the University of South Florida, they kept in contact with each other. Upon returning home for Christmas break in 1977, he introduced Jackie to his mom who immediately claimed that they would get married, and they both laughed.
After graduating from FAMU, Ron returned home to marry his sweetheart, and on September 20, 1980, his mother’s premonition came true. To this union two beautiful daughters were born, LaTorya and Jamilah, whom he cherished and always instilled in them to be respectful young ladies. Ron adored his grandkids and made sure they had everything they needed or possibly wanted.
Ron was employed by the Florida Commission on Human Relations for over twenty-five years as a Discrimination Investigator, where he received numerous accolades and leadership roles throughout his career. He later worked as a Supervisor and Assistant Manager at Walmart until his health began to decline.
On two occasions Ron beat the Death Angel, because he had a story to tell about God’s grace and mercy. During his conversations with his heavenly father, Ron realized God had a plan and it was not his time to leave this earth because he had more things to accomplish as a conqueror and a soldier. On June 10, 2025, Ron’s heavenly father looked down upon his children, his heart was filled with divine love, and he decided to call his son home saying you have fought a good fight, now it is time to rest.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved and cherished wife of 44 years, Jacqueline, Daughters, LaTorya Snell, Jamilah Snell Loriston (Petrus), Grandchildren, Kiera Johnson, (aka Bookee), Karlie Loriston,( aka Round head girl), Kendall Loriston, (aka Booook), Petrus Loriston, Jr,(aka P.J.)
