In loving memory of my dear Uncle Sylvester Hooks,
With heavy a hearts, I bid farewell to a pillar of strength and perseverance. Uncle Sylvester's unwavering support and encouragement propelled not only my mother's (Bennie) success but also helped laid the foundation to help shape the paths of her children (me, Amery and my brother, Anthony). Sylvester was the closest thing I had to having a grandfather given the early passing of mine. I saw in him the face and spirit of his father (Benjamin Hooks Sr.). Sylvester's sacrifice paved the way for the opportunities we cherish today, and for that, I am forever grateful.
His wisdom and guidance will be missed, but his legacy of resilience and determination will continue to inspire us. We will always hold dear the memories we shared and the lessons he imparted.
Sending Cookie my love and deepest sympathy during this difficult time. May Uncle Sylvester's spirit live on in our hearts forever.
With love and respect, Amery Moultry (New York City)
