Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Thessalonia M. B. Church with burial at Walker Cemetery.
Weldon Wilmouth Hawkins, 83, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home. He was the son of the late James Thomas Hawkins and Alice Farmer Hawkins. He was the third child of six children. Weldon attended the public schools of Wakulla County.
Later, he moved to New York City where he met and married Bonnie K. Smith and worked for the City of New York in the Maintenance Department.
Left to cherish his life and legacy are his wife, Bonnie Hawkins; son, Carlton Hawkins; daughters, Beverly Jefferson, Selina Gaines, Shirlyne Everette (Cyrus), Angela Barfield (Pierre) and Jackolyn Peterson (Harry); sister, Annie H. Bryant; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death his son, Rona L. Hawkins and grandson, Pierre Barfield II.
