Obituary For Mrs. Hazel Clayton Hayes

Hazel Clayton Hayes ,91, went home to be with the Lord September 17, 2022. Hazel was born October 8, 1930 in Quincy Florida to Carrie McCray and Will Clayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sister, Ruth Mae Brown and Brother Robert Conrad. Hazel received Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of Bethel AME church in Tallahassee Florida where she served on many auxiliaries, including the Stewardess Board. Her passion was the Lay Organization where she devoted most of her time. Hazel graduated from Edward Waters College (AA), Florida A&M University (BS), Michigan State University (M.Ed). Hazel was an Elementary School Reading Specialist. She taught in Indian River County and Detroit Public School systems over 40 years. Hazel was a member of Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Delta Kappa and other organizations. She will be greatly missed by daughter Vicki (Eric) Seymour, Son Doug Hayes, four legged friend Roy, and a multitude of family and friends. Funeral service will be 12:00 (noon) Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Mt Zion AME Church in Gifford Florida. The service has been entrusted to Stone Brothers Funeral Home of Fort Pierce, Florida.
