Tallahassee - Shirley Ann Cox Mims, 72, departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 6 pm, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home, Inc.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Strong & Jones Chapel with burial at Cox Cemetery in Quincy, Fl.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Robert Edwards Jr. and Desmond Dickey; three grandchildren, Allesha James, Keira Dickey and Asha Dickey; a great grandson, Jaylen Jackson; her mother, Dorothy Hinson; seven sisters, Irene Cox Griffin, Mary Lee, Carolyn Cannon (Melbin), Vivian Cox, Marian Lee, Gloria Cox and Brenda Favors (John); five brothers, Elder Jerome Cox (Kathleen), Michael Bradley Sr., Kenny Cox, Brian Cox and Bernard Manuel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My Condolences to the family.What a kind and loving spirit.I will never forget this Beautiful human being. Sister Shirley has return to her lord she will be missed.In time may the family have ease.She lives on.

Shirley was my coworker and friend. We met at FSU, where she worked in the fileroom, and me in the mail room. She was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She had a heart of gold. I have not seen Shirley in many many years and was sorry to see that she has passed away. To the family be strong. I pray that God will carry you through this sad time. Joan R Bennett
