Wanda Lovetta Gay Simmons born on March 29, 1950, to the late Ira Gay, Jr., and Thomasena Ellis Gay Doyle. She resided in Tallahassee until her passing on Friday, May 5, 2023.
She is survived by a son, Otis Simmons III; two loving sisters, Almentha Gay Barber and Jeanie E. Gay (Kareem Shabazz); a committed and dedicated niece, Shanna A. Barber (Sherman Henry); great-nephew, Shannon K. Henry; devoted cousins, Emmitt Gay and Geraldine Chambers; and numerous cousins and life-long friends.
Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Oakland Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12 (Noon) to 6 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
