Obituary For Nellie Mae Hayes

It is with profound sadness, yet humble submission to the will of God, that we announce the passing of Ms. Nellie Mae Hayes.

Ms. Nellie Mae Hayes, 83, affectionately known as “Mother Bishop,” peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, March 20, 2026. A devoted servant of God, her life was a reflection of faith, love, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Tabernacle M.B. Church, where words of comfort will be shared and her legacy honored. Interment will follow at Clifford Hill Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
