Tallahassee - Rev. Queen Elizabeth Miller, 96, was called home Sunday, February 7, 2021
A spiritual leader and a visionary, Reverend Miller ministered and pastored in the Florida Conference for twenty-six (26) years. She shattered the glass ceiling as the first woman pastor to build a church, Macedonia A.M.E. Reverend Miller also positively impacted the lives of members in many congregations and surrounding communities--including Bethelonia AMEC (Tallahassee), Friendship AMEC (Lake Jackson), New Bethel AMEC (Ashville Highway) and St. Phillip AMEC (Centerville Road).
She retired from the ministry in 2004, after serving in the ministry more than forty (40) years.
Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Viewing will be from 11 AM to 6 PM Friday, February 12, 2021 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn L Miller-Walker; two sisters, Bessie Hampton and Mamie Woodson; a brother, Rev. C.W. Woodson; two grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
