Albert Heard Jr., 72, passed on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Smiths, AL.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Wednesday July 9, 2025 at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 5230 Lee Rd 240, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Pryce Battle, Pastor, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing is 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Albert (Bug) Heard Jr. was born April 20, 1953 in Lee County, Alabama to the late Albert Heard Sr. and the late Beulah Flakes Heard.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur L. Heard.
He departed this life Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his home in Smiths, Station, AL. Albert confessed Christ at an early age and united with Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board for many years.
He retired from the Johnston Textiles in Phenix City, AL.
He attended Wacooche High School in Salem, AL and graduated from Smiths Station High School in Smiths Station, AL.
He leaves to cherish his memories: four sisters, Dorothy Ealy, Brenda Heard, Laura (Johnny) Jackson all of Smiths, AL and Emma Thomas of Ft. Mitchell, AL; one brother, Eddy Frank (Linda) of Smith, AL; one aunt, Mary Brooks of Phenix City, AL, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
