Boot was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple things- tending his garden, watching wrestling, casting a line to fish, and enjoying an ice cold Pepsi. Known for his sense of humor, he could fill any room with laughter through his unforgettable jokes. He was also βthe man with all the tools,β always ready to help with anything that needed fixing. Boot loved his pets, Bo and Cat, who were a constant companion to him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters, Shirley (John L.)Smith of Gary, Indiana, Mary Tolbert of Phenix City, Alabama; and Minnie Pearl Pickard of Opelika, Alabama; and one brother, Willie James Pickard of Phenix City, Alabama. He is also survived by three great-nephews, Jametris Beasley, Anthony Beasley and Kontavious Beasley, all of Opelika, Alabama; a special and devoted friend, Gearlean Reese Oates of Opelika, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Boot will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
