Annie Ruth Brinkley, 74, passed on Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Gateway Church, 6650 Buena Vista Road, Columbus, GA. 31907 with Pastor Llyod Johnson, Pastor; Pastor Charles Sapp, officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Public Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 16, 2026
Annie Ruth Williams Brinkley was born on May 16, 1951 to the late Mattie Lee Harris in Omaha, Georgia. She loved the Lord and was the mother of the Overcomers Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles and Cheryl Sapp.
She departed this life on January 8, 2026 and began her heavenly journey.
Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Lee Harris; her grandmother, Anna Lou Adams; her husband, Clyde Williams; daughter, Veronica Elaine Williams; four sisters, Katie Bell Farris, Betty Louise Flowers, Mattie Louise Alexander and Jessie Pearl Nickerson; one brother, Robert Lee Harris and one great nephew, JaQuan L. Harris.
Annie Ruth loved and adored her family. She leaves to carry on her legacy her husband, Nelson J. Brinkley; two beautiful daughters, Jessica R. Williams and Latosha L. Brooks; one son-in-law, Sidney Brooks, Jr.; three grandsons, David A. (Brionna) Marshall, Jeterious D. Tarver and Jamichael L. Minion; two devoted nieces, Jacqueline D. Harris and Jennifer Harris; two devoted nephews, Stephen Bolden and Marcus (Marquisha) Howard; devoted goddaughter, Lavonya Alexander; great nephews, Rayshad Harris, Marquis Howard and Logan Howard; two great nieces, Tyanna Howard and Tyquanna Howard; special sister, Jean Davis and Faye Allen; one adopted grandson, Gregory Wise and a host of beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family who she loved with all of her heart.
