Obituary For Anthony James Gilliam
Anthony Gilliam, 52, passed on Monday, March 2, 2026 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Harrison Ford, officiating. Burial at Greater St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Crawford, AL. Public visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilliam affectionately known as βAntβ entered eternal rest on Monday, March 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born September 29, 1973 in Tuskegee, AL to Catharee Bellamy-Gilliam and the late James Gilliam.
Anthony grew up in a home surrounded by the love and nurturing of both parents, his grand parents, uncles and aunts. He was a ray of sunshine shining bright in the Crawford and Phenix City, AL Communities. The life of the party and all family gatherings. He was also known as the βKingβ of the dance floor. His moves were the reflection of his true personality. Never a dull moment in his presence. His laughter and smile were contagious.
Anthony attended Russell County High School, Seale, AL. He was a member of Cannan A.M.E. Church. A hard worker being employed over the years by Fieldcrest Mills, Columbus, GA, Joe-Ryan Enterprise, Hamilton, GA and APTIM, Ft. Benning, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father and his younger brother, Derek Gilliam.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother, Catharee Gilliam; son, Anthony James Gilliam, Jr.; sister, Mary (John) Larch; three brothers, Richard Gilliam, Rodney Gilliam, and Brian Gilliam; four aunts, Daisy Bellamy, Mary Francis Bellamy, Mildred Bellamy and Betty Bellamy; one great aunt, Hattie Pitts; a loving and caring sister in law, Tammie Gilliam; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
