Bessie Ann Gray, 55, passed on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Nero Baptist Church, Hurtsboro, AL, with Rev. Byron Dixon, pastor and Rev. Joe Benton, eulogist, officiating. Burial in St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Hurtsboro, AL. There will be no public viewing.

Bessie “Bet” Harris was born October 15, 1970 in Hurtsboro, AL to the late Hubert Harris and the late Bessie Harris.

In the year of 1979, after the passing of her father, her siblings and their mom moved to Ft. Myers, FL. where she finished school. She started and retired from the Bus Bond as a (School Bus Driver). Later in life, she confessed her life to Christ.

Bessie was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Harris; her mother, Bessie Lee Harris; sisters, Alberta Freeman and Patricia Harris; brothers, Nick Harris, Hasson Harris and Sammy Pritchett, Jr.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memories her son, Edward Robinson; daughter, Laporsha Porter, Ft. Myers, FL; three sisters, Mary Harris, Hurtsboro, AL, Anna Curtis, Clorine Harris both of Ft. Myers, FL; brothers, Ralph Harris, Hurtsboro, AL and Jimmy Harris, Rochester, New York; aunt, Temple Battle, Ft. Myers, FL; uncle, Dave Seals, Hurtsboro, AL; two close friends, Kim and Vett of Ft. Myers, FL; a host of other relatives and friends.
