Mrs. Bessie Lee Hill, 81, of Columbus, GA. passed Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Columbus, GA.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. EST, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Dr. Raymond Cochran, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mrs. Bessie Lee Hill, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mary King was born October 7, 1939.
Bessie was educated in the Phenix City Public School System. She accepted Christ April, 1960 and joined Franchise Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late S.A. Harvey. She served on the hostess committee and was a devoted member of FMBC Choir #1. She retired from Fieldcrest Mill and went on to pursue a career at Mother Mary Mission Catholic School as a Foster Grandparent and was affectionately called “Mama Suge”.
She is preceded in death by devoted husband, Dallas Hill.
Bessie leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Connie Robinson (Curtis) and Sherry Ann Banner (Larry) - Columbus, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Terrance Evans (Adeanna) Athens, Georgia; Damiean Robinson Chicago, Illinois; Brandon Robinson, Eric Robinson, Akeem Banner, Arriel Banner, Larry Banner, Jr. all of Columbus, Georgia and Marco Banner Detroit, Michigan; one devoted niece, Margaret Austin and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grands and great great-grands .
Mrs. Bessie was so loved and kind. She reminded me so much of my grandmother as if they were sister. She will truly be missed. This is one of the McKenzie twins and we send our deepest sympathy to you while your going through this hard time. May God comfort you!!!
