With loving hearts, we celebrate the life of Betty Ann Quarles, who peacefully transitioned on June 3, 2026. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the love, faith, and joy she shared throughout her life.
Born on March 29, 1951, in Pittsview, Alabama, to the late Willie Lee Thomas Sr. and Essie Mae Thomas, Betty spent much of her life in Columbus, Georgia, and Phenix City, Alabama.
At an early age, Betty accepted Christ and became a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Pittsview, Alabama. Later, she joined Faith Worship Center under the leadership of Dr. Ann Hartman, where she was ordained as a minister and faithfully served in the prison and hospitality ministries.
Betty worked more than 20 years at Fieldcrest Mills and later served as an at-home caretaker with New Horizons. She loved her spending time with family and friends-laughing and enjoying life. She loved bowling, watching court shows and game shows, especially Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. Her favorite Gospel artist was Lee Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Julia Thomas Person and her brother Eddie Lee Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Deborah Chisolm (James Chisolm) and Dwayne Quarles; grandchildren, Brandon Quarles, Courtnie Crocker (Janus Crocker), and D'Quavion Lewis; siblings, Vera Lois Franklin, Mary Louise Thomas, and Rev. Willie Lee Thomas Jr. (Rev. May Thomas); and a host of loving family and friends.
Betty will forever be remembered for her faith, loving spirit, laughter, and devotion to family.

We are saddened for your loss . When someone we love dies it hurts. We want to live and be happy and healthy. Death prevents that and it saddens us . However Its comforting to know that death doesnot end it all. Read John 5:28-29;it clear that our loved ones who have died can live again..
