Mr. B.J. Van Buren, 71, of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Phenix City, AL
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Twanna D. Crayton, officiating. Visitation is Friday, November 10, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. B.J. Van Buren departed his earthly home on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1952 in Phenix City, AL to the late Levi Johnson and Inell Van Buren.
B.J. was a graduate of South Girard High School. He later went on to work in the textiles mills and retired from Hostess.
He was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Arthur Van Buren and Rudolph Van Buren; three sisters, Frankie Mae Wilson, Mary Van Buren and Mildred Johnson.
B.J. leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Beverley Van Buren of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Tracy (Alfred) Carr; two sons, Jeffery (Phaedra) Van Buren and Willie (Penny) Gary; six granddaughters; five grandsons; six great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; four brothers- in-law, law; two aunts; one uncle; Family and Friends Social Club; and host of nieces, nephews, god children and friends.

I used to see Mr. BJ everyday at work and we would laugh and cut up. He was such a sweet man and he used to make my day every time I seen him. I will truly miss seeing him in the halls and all the jokes and laughs we shared. My thoughts and prayers are w/him family and loved ones.
