Obituary For Camellia "Squirt" Hicks
Camellia Hicks, 64, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, August 21, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, August 30, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. James Daniels, officiating. Interment to follow in Evening Sunset Memorial Gardens. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST.
Sister Camellia Annette Hicks was born on April 19, 1961, in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of the late Bernice Hicks Bunkley. Other than her Mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Marvin and Lillie Mae Hicks, one Uncle James C. Hicks, three Aunts, Willie B. Clowney, Pauline Brown and Carrie Ivey.
On August 21, 2025, Sister Hicks departed this life at Piedmont Midtown in Columbus, Georgia.
Sister Hicks confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Villula, Alabama. She sang in the Senior and Junior Choir and was one of the Church Custodians. She was a 1978 graduate of Chavala High School in Seale, Alabama. She worked for Great Adventures in New Jersey and was a Security Guard for Columbus Foundry in Columbus, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two brothers, Joseph (Constance Starks) Hicks of Columbus, Georgia and Claude (Jayrine Goolsby) Hicks of Atlanta, Georgia; one niece, Latasha Hicks of Columbus, Georgia; two nephews, JaQuavis Smith and Quashun Wilson of Columbus, Georgia; one great nephew, Elijah Souza of Columbus, Georgia; five aunts, Emma Terry, Irene Dixon and Bertha Hicks of Phenix City, Alabama, Corrie (James) Upshaw of Buffalo, New York and Etha Westbrook of Long Branch, New Jersey.
