Mrs. Carolyn Inita White Johnson, 78, of Columbus, GA passed Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. EST, Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Rev. Emmitt Aniton officiating. Interment at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is Monday, February 19, 2024 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Carolyn White Johnson was born December 6, 1945 to John T. and Aurelia White in Newport News, Virginia. She departed this life on Feb. 10, 2024. Carolyn Johnson was one of three siblings born into the White union.
She was a 1964 graduate of Huntington High School; While at Huntington she was a proud Honor student and voted the “Best Dancer” all four years in high school. She later pursued a career in banking and retired from the U.S. Army Civil Service. After high school, she met and later married the love of her life Robert “Sid” Johnson, Sr. from Columbus, Georgia.
Anyone who knew Carolyn knew that she was a devout church member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was active in several roles in the church such as; General Missionary, Secretary, Vacation Bible School, Choir Member, Sunday School, and many more.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, and siblings: spouse, Robert Johnson, Sr.; father, John T. White, Sr.; mother, Aurelia White; grandmother, Laura Blunt; grandfather, Leonard Blunt; grandmother, Helen( Nanny) White and sister, Joyce White.
Carolyn is survived by her brother, John T. White (Tina) of Newport News, Va.; son, Chris Johnson of Columbus, GA and Robert (Bob) Johnson, Jr. of Columbus, GA; daughter, Chanda Johnson of Columbus, GA; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Aurelia Johnson, Alexis Daniels, Sierra Oliver, Lindsey Johnson, Landon Cotton, Alliyah Leilani Cotton, Kynleigh Hodges, Hendrix Fain, Harlym Fain and daughter in love, Regina Cook and hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
